I have been looking into copper bullion in the form of 16oz bars on ebay. I worry about drill and fill. I know buying silver and gold in small coins and bars the chances of drill and fill are less likely, is this the same for copper?

I recently decided to start purchasing one or more .999 one troy ounce silver bullion bars per month as an investment toward the future that would not take a big chunk out of my wallet. This month I purchased 3 of them to "start the collection." I was wondering how financially sound it would be to continue the pattern through the next 10 or so years ( providing the price doesn’t skyrocket to near the cost of gold). I figure if all goes as planned, that by the 10 year mark I will have between 200-250 troy ounce bars of silver bullion. I watch the spot price on silver. I know that it is down at the moment, but figure (like the others in the precious metals list) that it will only go up as time goes on. I’m planning on keeping the obtained pieces through the next few decades (unless I could make a significant financial gain by selling it off at some point). It may be small bits of silver bullion here & there compared to some purchases, but I figure it’s both easy on the wallet & economically safe (just in the off chance that the economy takes another dive into what would be the second Great Depression). So what do you think… Good/bad idea? Any tips/wisdom you have to offer are welcome.

I’ve been searching around and most places charge up to over spot per ounce plus tax and s&h or have a huge minimum purchase. I was thinking about purchasing from Ampex, they seem rather cheaper with no minimums. I noticed they sell pure gold shot ant silver grain/shot. Would that be a better route to go, it is a lot cheaper than purchasing bars but then again it doesn’t look at nice! lol. I always hear people suggest to invest in gold and silver, but what about Platinum?

I live in Las Vegas and I need to find the purity of this silver as fast and honest as possible. Do I have to send it off to get it tested? Or is there someplace local where I can take it? The coin shops say they have to send it off to have it tested and I am obligated to sell to them at 80 cents on the dollar. I can accept the 80 cents on the dollar, but I am uneasy about having someone send it off. How trustworthy are these coin and bullion dealers? I need to make my house payment. Please help me.

I was looking on ebay at bullions pre 1965 coins an stackable bars. problem I seen though was a troy ounce on there was going for about seven dollars more per troy ounce….why? Should I be buying off ebay or ordering through a mint. Does it matter what form I get it in?How do you feel about the precious metals future?
